Funded by the Australian government and coordinated by Good Sports, the Tackling Illegal Drugs program helps Australian sports clubs become better prepared to address drug-related issues and works with clubs to develop and implement an illegal drugs policy.
The policy is more than just a piece of paper; it’s a chance to educate members and talk about how clubs deal with issues. A policy sets clear standards and helps clubs to react appropriately in response to incidents. Setting measures in place can also help to prevent drug-related issues in the future.
Career Athlete was engaged to deliver Good Sports in Tasmania with Christian Ellston (Managing Director) in the role of Tasmania Regional Manager from March 2014 - March 2017.
Sporting clubs are a snapshot of the larger community. No matter what age, or sport, the chances are that somebody at your club has been touched by the issue. Even if it isn’t an issue now, it pays to always be prepared.
